~The Dream
Educator, e-learning designer and JDM enthusiast

Actually, I was riding in a BTR 50 that day and they let me drive it for a bit too!
Maybe your first exposure to JDM Cars probably came the first time you picked up a Playstation 2, and heard the purr of a Skyline’s engine. Perhaps it was catching bits and pieces of Japanese teams in touring car events. It might have been a black and white Ae86 racing alongside an RX-7, or a Fairlady Z zooming on the Wangan or the Shotoku. Or maybe you just fell in love with the Datsun 240 SX when you were young, and it was a slow-drip obsession that gradually left an indelible mark on your soul.
Regardless of what it was, you wanted to scratch that itch. You wanted to own one of the Legends. You didn't have the money then, but you might have the money now. Or you might not have the money now, but you certainly have the ambition.
On the other hand, maybe you're just needing a reasonable priced used car in our incredibly unreasonable economy at the moment. You've got a family and you need a second car, in good condition, which won't break the bank!
Welcome to the THEJDMDREAM.CA . These were my journeys: I've imported a FD RX7 for myself, and I'm importing a Toyota Prius hybrid for my wife and son. I wanted a legend, and I needed a family car too!
These are not just journeys, but an education. Aside from a background in Japanese, I have nearly zero automotive mechanical knowledge. But that's going to change. So for those of you who want to come with me, have a seat, buckle up ( it is the law in Canada!) and get ready for the long ride.
I'm not only going to entertain you, but I'm also going to learn you something. I'll be creating online educational pieces for this entire process - educational pieces you can go through and enlighten yourself on. So, when you're ready to take this journey yourself, you're a little better informed.
THEJDMDREAM.CA is a living showcase of my online journey as an eLearning Designer for hire: applying best UDL principles to a variety of academic and non-academic educational topics - in this case, importing and maintaining a JDM dream in Canada.
