I saw my first Skyline R32 GTR in the flesh when I moved to work in Japan in 2001. It belonged to my neighbour, and every time he revved that RB26DETT, the hairs on the back of my neck would tingle.
I can now look at a Silvia and utter, with confidence, zenki or kouki

The J in JDM means something to you. It is not just car, but car culture. Exploring that culture - its roots, its history - makes your choice of car mean something to you!
I was an educator over there, teaching in the province just north of Gunma Prefecture (Initial D fans take note).
My time in Japan was formative; it defined a large part of my life and future. And it put a passion in my heart to explore the cult re that inspired such vehicles that have captured out hearts. Knowing the history of a thing makes it all the more meaningful!

You watch YouTube cause you wanna know things. You scan Reddit looking for advice. Why not collect that knowledge in one ongoing educational piece - putting that knowledge together in a resource where you can learn, remember and apply that knowledge?
That's the difference between knowledge and skills.
Then you take those skills and apply them to make something great of yourself and for yourself.
